Dune bashing is an adventure sport where large 4×4 vehicles are driven on dunes. Just like any other sport, dune bashing is fun and exciting and has become a major tourist attraction in the UAE today. This is an absolute MUST for everyone who visits Dubai.

When in Dubai, lightweight clothing is recommended during the summer whereas suitable clothes should be worn during winter when temperatures can fall especially during night time. Clothes revealing one’s body is considered offensive and should be avoided when outdoors. The climate in the Dubai desert is very different from the city. During the day, loose fitting clothing and shoes that can be easily removed. Flip flops and sandals are best to wear in the desert.

However, at night, please use the following as a guide:

From May to October, wearing loose clothing, shorts and t-shirts are recommended.
From November to April, be ready to dress in layers.
Between December and February, it can quite cold in the desert in the night where the temperature can get down below 15 degrees Celsius. Wearing jeans, closed shoes, shirts and jacket is recommended during this period.

It must be the highlight that Dubai is a Muslim state and alcohol is not permitted under the rules of Islam. However, Dubai government had been flexible allowing alcohol service in some Hotels and in a desert camp. If you decided to drink alcohol in the desert, we would always encourage our guests to drink in moderation.

There are good reasons why we recommend Private Tour vehicles for families or groups with children under 5 years old. Toddlers will show their emotions during tours so sharing the car with other guests would be improper and unfair to other guests. We also adjust our driving speed and dune bashing skills to our little guests and their families to guarantee everyone has an amazing experience.

If you are pregnant, you must inform Royal Mirage Tourism prior to the tour so drivers can be notified to give extra care while driving. Please, book a private car, so we can make the necessary adjustment to accommodate you safely and guarantee a wonderful adventure for everyone.

For guest who wishes to have a Guide that can speak Arabic, Russian, German, Italian, French or Chinese, please let us know at the time of booking to accommodate your request. Additional charge may apply.

Safaris and tours that include lunch or dinner will always include vegetable dishes. However, if you have a special request or food allergies, please let us know at the time of booking to accommodate your request.

Photography in Dubai and UAE is welcome outdoors in general. However, guests should take extra precautions from taking pictures at beaches, private areas, airport terminals and government offices. Whenever possible, it is recommended to sought from respective offices when taking pictures in shopping malls and private areas. Taking pictures of unknown people especially local Arabic women and the police in uniform is considered rude, offensive and illegal in Dubai and UAE.

Royal Mirage Tourism LLC incorporate ‘per person’ charge for luxury safaris and inbound
tours in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates. Price inclusions can be found in the drop-down
menu under Tour Overview section that clearly indicates the ‘per person’ charges along with an
explanation.

Any costs that are not included in the total price will be listed under the “What’s Extra” section
of the tour description.

No, you do not need to tip your Tour Guide. However, many of our guests would like to
acknowledge the excellent services extended by our Guides that made their holiday in Dubai
and UAE special. It must be highlight that there are no obligations to give a tip and if you do,
the amount depends completely on your kindness and generosity.

“No Show” is 100% chargeable or non-refund policy shall be applied if

Our cancellation policy is free of charge if done at least 48 hours before the
tour date. If cancellation is done less than 48 hours before the tour, 100%
chargeable applies or non-refund policy will be applied if already paid in
advance.

For Private Dinner Setup and Group Safaris, our cancellation policy is free
of charge if done at least THREE WEEKS before the tour date. If cancellation
is done less than THREE WEEKS before the tour, cancellation is 100%
chargeable.

The exchange rates that we use to convert prices are set each morning based on the ‘Interbank
Rate’ from Oanda.com PLUS 2.75% (your credit card provider typically adds at least 3%).
The default currency for the tour prices is UAE Dirhams. The exchange rate that we use to
convert the prices are US$1.00 equals 3.68 AED.

For your convenience, you can pay for your tour in CAD, AUD, EUR, GBP, and JPY.
If you wish to pay in one of the above currencies, please, tell us prior the tour.

Note that once you book a tour, the price is fixed, even if exchange rate changes between the
time you book and the time you take your tour.
